THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY IN ROME HAS ELECTED THE IPF PRESIDENT, THE NEW BOARD OF DIRECTORS AND THE NEW ASSOCIATED MEMBERS

Today, 28 April 2021, the General Assembly meeting of the International Padel Federation was held in Roma, at the prestigious venue of the “Honorary hall” of the Italian National Olympic Committee. The meeting started with the introductory welcome of Giovanni Malagò, President of the Italian National Olympic Committee.

Mr. Luigi Carraro was confirmed, unanimously, President of the IPF, for the following Olympic four-year term.

The members in attendance were also called to elect the Executive Board members and voted the following members:

  • Mr. Oscar Nicastro, from Argentina
  • Mr. Eduardo Langer, from Brazil
  • Mr.Ramón Morcillo, from Spain
  • Mr. Roberto Pellegrini, from Italy
  • Mr. Koji Nakatsuka, from Japan
  • Mr. José Luis García Frapolli, from Mexico

When called to vote on the applications for membership, the Assembly accepted the candidatures received from the following countries, who were welcomed into the family of IPF:

  • Bulgary
  • South Korea
  • Ecuador
  • Georgia
  • Malta
  • Qatar
  • Turkey
  • Ukrania

The IPF points that all the votes in the order of the day, including one with 4/5 votes needed, did not have any vote against, being approved 100% of all the topics of the Assembly, including, as well, the ones that required 4/5 and 2/3 of the votes.

The Assembly had a record in the quorum, the IPF congratulates the country members for their efforts and dedication.

THE NEW DIRECTIVE OF FRENCH TENNIS FEDERATION HAD A MEETING WITH INTERNATIONAL PADEL FEDERATION

From International Padel Federation (FIP) we welcome the new directive of the French Tennis Federation (FFT) headed by its new president: Gilles Moretton.

Last week they started their work with Padel, showing to the FIP its interest in the growth of this discipline. The meeting between both institutions was held in Paris, between Luigi Carraro, the new president Gilles Moretton, Pierre Doumayrou (Secretary-General), Arnaud Clement, (Vice-President of Competition), and the development manager of Padel Arnaud Di Pasquale, former tennis player, Olympic medalist and passionate about our sport for more than 15 years. The topics discussed were focused on the plans of the Gallic country on the development of Padel nationally and internationally.

The key points of the meeting were:

  • Padel’s unique license.
  • Support and enhanced support to the Padel clubs
  • Boost teaching in the country with a new training course for coaches
  • Include more FIP international tournaments integrated into your circuits
  • Working to host the FIP’s most important International Championships

Without a doubt, having such a great federation working for Padel will make us much stronger and help our sport develop even faster and more professionally in the world.
