septiembre 19, 2026
Cristina Cirne and Julia Giusti Gomes enjoyed a dream day. Two Brazilian players have reached the semi-finals of the FIP Gold on home soil in São Paulo, with the prospect of going even further. Cirne and 17-year-old Giusti Gomes, one of the biggest talents in international Padel, first defeated the number 4 seeds, Spain’s Ainize Santamaria and Argentina’s Fiorella Propato, 7-5 6-2, before repeating the feat against Argentines Martina Marcel and Jazmin Dos Santos, winning 6-2 6-1. Today, they will face number 2 seeds Lorena Rufo and Jessica Castelló in the semi-finals. The other semi-final in the women’s draw has followed expectations, with Jimena Velasco and Raquel Eugenio (1) facing Anna Ortiz and Maria Laura Ferreyra (2). Both semi-finalist pairs conceded just seven games across their two matches, winning both encounters by the same scorelines: 6-1 6-2 in the round of 16 and 6-2 6-2 in the quarter-finals.
MEN In the presence of FIP President Luigi Carraro, who was in São Paulo, the men’s semi-final line-up was also confirmed. As with the semi-final in the top half of the women’s draw, the results followed expectations. Alex Arroyo and José Jimenez won both of their matches without dropping a set, against De Barros/Carlesso and Lopez/Dal Bianco. José Diestro and Juanlu Esbri, meanwhile, needed a deciding third set in the quarter-finals to overcome Argentines Francisco Mayer and Leonardo Yob 6-2 1-6 6-3. The protagonists of the bottom-half semi-final enjoyed a perfect run: Alex Chozas and Juani De Pascual, after defeating Octavio and Mateo Alvarez and Diaz/Graupera, will face David Gala and Maxi Arce. The latter advanced after Molina/Villavicencio retired following the first set, before beating Felipe Calleja and Santino Contreras 6-3 6-3.
All matches will be streamed live on the FIP YouTube channel.
