Andalucia Alcalà De Guadaira, Third win in a row for Barahona and Garcia

Javier Barahona and Javi Garcia keep winning. The “Javis” won the FIP Silver Andalucia in Alcalá De Guadaira this weekend, their third win in a row after the FIP Silver in La Calzada and the FIP Silver in Vila Real. This is Barahona’s 10th title in the CUPRA FIP Tour, six of them with Garcia, who now has 9 titles. They won after the Spanish team Vilariño-Oria had to retire following a 7-5 loss in the first set.

“We had another great week playing at a very high level. We’re happy to win another trophy. I’m sorry for our opponents’ retirement and we wish them the best for the next tournaments,” said Javier Barahona during the trophy ceremony.

In the women’s draw, Jimena Velasco (winner of the FIP Star in Perugia in 2023 with Nuria Rodriguez) and Noa Canovas (winner of the FIP Rise in Alkmaar in 2021 with Marina Guinart) took the title. The Spanish pair won the final against the top seeds Martinez-Marrero with a score of 6-3, 1-6, 6-4.
