May 28, 2025
The Premier Padel Buenos Aires P1, which brings the world’s padel stars back to Argentina after editions in Mendoza (2022 and 2023) and Mar del Plata (2024), began under the banner of battles. On the first day of the main draw, in which men’s first round matches and four women’s first round matches were played, nine matches were decided in the third set. The ‘marathon of the day’ award goes to Teo Zapata and José Jimenez, who defeated Federico Mouriño and Pincho Fernandez 4-6 6-3 7-5 in three hours and 3′. Also decided are the opponents of the top seeds: Arturo Coello and Agustin Tapia will debut against Victor Ruiz and Xisco Gil, while for Fede Chingotto and Ale Galan – coming from the Asuncion triumph – will be Nachi Sager and Lucas Campagnolo.
WOMEN Concluded the qualifying draw, there were the first results of the main draw, and also the first surprise, with the victory (6-4 6-3) of Bea Caldera and Carmen Goenaga over Ale Salazar and Veronica Virseda, the number 7 seed. Double 6-1, instead, for Lucia Sainz and Patty Llaguno over wild cards Daniela Banchero and Irene Jimenez.
What kicks off at 9 a.m. local time, 2 p.m. CET, will be a great day, with 24 matches on the four courts at Parque Roca. All the best players in the world will play, making for an unmissable show.
