Day 1. All the best in the stands for Sara Errani. Wednesday it’s time for them
June 10, 2025
The show has begun at the Foro Italico. And it began with many of the world’s best players in the stands of the stadium named after Nicola Pietrangeli, curious about the presence of Sara Errani in the BNL Italy Major Premier Padel. Errani, two days after her triumph in the doubles tournament at Roland Garros with Jasmine Paolini, and after also winning in the mixed doubles with Andrea Vavassori, fought for over two hours alongside Giulia Dal Pozzo but was defeated – under the watchful eyes of Ari Sanchez, Claudia Jensen, Lucia Sainz, Patty Llaguno and Fede Chingotto – with a score of 7-6 7-5 in the match versus Sandra Bellver and Laia Rodriguez.
WEDNESDAY Twenty-eight matches today, 28 tomorrow, starting at 9 a.m. CET for the morning session, while the afternoon session will begin at 4 p.m. The program will open on Center Court with defending champions Fede Chingotto and Ale Galan taking on Valdes/Collado, while Franco Stupaczuk and Juan Lebron (3) will open the program on Pietrangeli against Ayats/Garcia Rodrigo. In the evening, the number 1s in the FIP men’s rankings, Arturo Coello and Agustin Tapia, will make their debut, preceded among others by Mike Yanguas and Coki Nieto (4) against Zapata/Jimenez. The ‘marathon prize’ for the first day of the second Major of the year goes to the match between Sofia Saiz and Marina Lobo against Jimena Velasco and Noa Canovas, who emerged victorious after a two-hour and 54-minute battle.
