Indonesia I, Araus-Fitó, first title as a “pareja”

A victory worth twenty spots in the FIP ranking. It’s celebration time for Patri Araus, a 20-year-old from Zaragoza, who on Sunday claimed the title at the FIP Bronze Indonesia I, the first CUPRA FIP Tour tournament held in the Asian country. In the capital Jakarta, Patri — now world No. 141 — and her partner Carla Fitó dominated Ainize Santamaría and Angelina Neizvestnaya with a resounding 6-0 6-1 win, securing their first title together.

“We’re really happy with the work we put in over the whole weekend. We managed to stay focused, show a solid level of play, and most importantly, build a strong team both on and off the court — which is what matters most to us”, said Araus. “We’d like to thank all the fans who supported us in every match. We truly felt backed by them, and that makes all the difference”.

In the men’s draw, the title went to Marc Bernils and Sergi Nogueras, the No. 6 seeds, who defeated Nicolás Zurita and Miguel Melero 7-5 6-2 in the final.
