Mediolanum Padel Cup Palermo, New win in her Italy for Giulia Dal Pozzo

After the event in Rome, the second Italian stage of the FIP Silver Mediolanum Padel Cup took place this weekend in Palermo. This week, the tournament continues in Treviso. A new victory came in her home country for young Giulia Dal Pozzo (partner of Sara Errani in the last BNL Italy Major Premier Padel), who, together with Anna Ortiz, won again after her titles at the FIP Bronze in Nola in April and the FIP Bronze in Norway just one week ago. They won the final 6-3 6-1 against Sofia Saiz and Marina Lobo. This success proves that true class is the strongest skill of the Italian New Wave.

“It was amazing! I want to thank this wonderful crowd that cheered for us—we really felt it on court. We’re a fantastic team, a ‘pareja’ that becomes one on the court. We had a great connection from the very first training, and we won our first tournament in Nola. That gave us confidence, and other wins followed. But this comes from hard work and sacrifice, and that’s how we must keep going,” said Giulia Dal Pozzo after the win.

The men’s title at this new stop of the CUPRA FIP Tour in Sicily went to Gonzalo Rubio and Javi Ruiz, who beat ‘Captain America’ Alex Ruiz and ‘El Tiburon’ Maxi Sanchez, both top 30 in the FIP ranking, with a score of 6-2 6-3.
