Day 4. Diestro-Esbri continue to impress: today it’s time for quarter-finals

Their victory in Asuncion against Arturo Coello and Agustin Tapia was no fluke: José Diestro and Juanlu Esbri continue to achieve results, as demonstrated by their round of 16 victory at the Premier Padel Betclic Bordeaux P2, which will see Diestro and Esbri take to the court today against Juan Tello and Martin Di Nenno. José and Juanlu had already planned to attend the FIP Silver Mediolanum Padel Cup in Treviso over the weekend, but things have taken an interesting turn at the Patinoire de Mériadeck, as the Spaniards will now be able to chase a semi-final spot already achieved in Paraguay. Arturo Coello and Agustin Tapia, seeded number 1, will face Momo Gonzalez and Jon Sanz in the top half of the draw, which today will also see Navarro/Bergamini and Nieto/Yanguas face off. In the bottom half, meanwhile, there will be another duel (as in Valladolid) between Fede Chingotto and Ale Galan against Pablo Cardona and Leo Augsburger.

WOMEN Today also sees the quarter-finals of the women’s draw, where Aranzazu Osoro and Martina Calvo stand out once again. This is their last tournament as a pair, but they are motivated to finish with yet another great result. Today, the “Vikinga” and the young Spaniard will face Bea Caldera and Carmen Goenaga, with the other quarter-final in the bottom half between Bea Gonzalez and Claudia Fernandez (3) against Lucia Sainz and Patty Llaguno (8). At the top, Paula Josemaria and Ari Sanchez (1) will find Ale Alonso and Claudia Jensen (7), and Jessica Castelló and Lorena Rufo will face Andrea Ustero and Sofia Araujo (4).
