Day3, Men. Phase 1 is over. Lithuania, Bulgaria, Greece, Finland and San Marino advance

The San Marino team’s celebration came late in the evening, after three days of battles and five ties, as Group E of Phase 1 of the FIP Euro Padel Cup was the only one with five teams. San Marino beat Slovakia with the decisive point scored by Berardi and Carli, finishing first in the group and qualifying for Phase 2, which starts on Friday, where they will face Sweden, Denmark and Croatia. Cyprus came third, Ireland fourth and Kosovo fifth.

A few hours earlier, four other teams had celebrated. In Group A, Lithuania, after the first two matches against Ukraine, won the decisive point in a group in which Czechia finished 3-0 against Moldova. In Group B, Bulgaria qualified for Phase 2 thanks to a 3-0 win over Turkiye; Estonia ended with a 3-0 win over Georgia.

Greece is the only national team to have qualified for Phase 2 in both the women’s and men’s competitions: in the men’s competition, Greece won the head-to-head against Austria thanks to the point won by Chalavazis and Mandalenakis (7-5, 7-6 against Ederer and Boisits); also in Group C, Slovenia beat Montenegro 3-0.

Finland was the only team in the men’s tournament to finish Phase 1 with nine wins in three ties: Romania was defeated by Finland today, while Andorra defeated Luxembourg 2-1.
