Portimao, a showdown between the queens of the CUPRA FIP Tour

Two standout pairs take center stage at the FIP Bronze in Portimao, with the women’s draw running from Friday to Sunday alongside the men’s FIP Silver, also taking place in the Portuguese city. The top seeds are Laura Lujan, with 9 wins so far on the CUPRA FIP Tour, and Letizia Manquillo, who returns to the international FIP circuit after claiming two titles and reaching two finals between May and June. In the top half of the draw — and possibly on track to meet in the semis — are also Lucia Garcia and Nati Lopez (3), who just a few days ago won the FIP Bronze Lyttos Crete II. That victory took Lopez to the top of the CUPRA FIP Tour’s all-time winners list with 10 titles, while her partner joined Lujan at 9.

In the bottom half of the draw, all eyes are on Amanda and Rebecca Lopez (2) and Maria Portillo/Claudia Escacena (4). Other seeded teams include Portugal’s Clarinha Santos and Pati Ribeiro (5), and Swiss number one Karin Hechenberger, who teams up with Italy’s Carlotta Casali (6). The first two rounds of the main draw will be played on Friday, quarterfinals are set for Saturday, and Sunday will feature the semis and the final.
