Porto Alegre: Schuck shines at home. Another win for Chiostri and Sanchez Blasco
August 4, 2025
She was the most anticipated player of the tournament, and she didn’t disappoint. Manuela Schuck, playing with Raquel Piltcher, took the title at the FIP Bronze Porto Alegre (Brazil), her hometown. After beating fellow Brazilians Correa and young talent Gomes Giusti in the semis, the top seeds won the final against Chile’s Gabriela Roux and Giannina Minieri (6-3 6-3). It’s Schuck’s second win on the CUPRA FIP Tour in less than a month, following her victory at the FIP Bronze Chile V in early July. For Piltcher, it’s her very first title on the FIP circuit.
In the men’s draw, Maxi Sanchez Blasco and Fede Chiostri continued their great form. After winning the FIP Silver in Veracruz in July — and for Sanchez Blasco, also reaching the final in the FIP Silver Mimosa in Porto — the Argentine duo clinched the Brazilian Bronze title. They beat fellow countrymen Felipe Calleja and Francisco Maier in a tough three-set battle (6-4 4-6 6-3).
