Potosí, Day2. Lopez-De Pascual and Rodriguez-Rubini on fire. Predictions confirmed in the women’s draw

The FIP Gold in Potosí (Mexico), which offers 150 points in the FIP ranking for the winners, has reached its decisive phase. In the men’s draw, two pairs have overturned the predictions based on the entry list: Argentinean Facundo Lopez and Juani De Pascual eliminated top seeds Edu Alonso and Gonza Alfonso with a score of 6-4 5-7 6-4, and Alonso Rodriguez and Juani Rubini (6) did the same, beating Javier Barahona and Alvaro Cepero 6-4 6-4. Agustin Torre and Alex Ruiz (3) took advantage of the withdrawal of Mario Del Castillo and Miguel Lamperti, while Inigo Jofre and Lucas Campagnolo defeated Pedro Araujo and Antonio Luque 6-4 7-6.

In the women’s draw, however, the top four seeds qualified for the semi-finals: Guinart-Iglesias (1) will face Barrera-Caparros (3), while in the bottom half Aguilar-Polo (4) and Sainz-Lobo (2) will compete in a programme that will begin at 10 a.m. local time (6 p.m. in Mexico) with the women’s semi-finals, followed by the men’s. The finals will begin at 6:30 p.m. Mexican time (2.30 a.m. CET).
