Day1. Orsi-Fassio, a winning start. Super Wednesday: 22 matches at the Movistar Arena

After ending her partnership with Nuria Rodriguez, Carolina Orsi chose to play the Premier Padel Comunidad de Madrid P1 with Martina Fassio, with whom she had already competed in the P2 in Asuncion in 2024. And the new beginning for the Italian and Argentine was a winning one: Orsi and Fassio made their debut by eliminating 7-6 6-1 Aranzazu Osoro and Veronica Virseda, seeded number 7. Meanwhile, the other seeded pair in the women’s draw, Claudia Jensen and Ale Alonso (6), won 6-2, 6-2 against Lopez/Lopez Moral.

MEN A year ago, Andres Fernandez Lancha was the big surprise of the P1 in Madrid: after the quarter-finals in 2024, the Spanish won his first match, 6-4, 6-3 with Alvaro Cepero against Javi Rico and Nachi Sager. David Gala and Lucas Campagnolo will be the first opponents of the FIP ranking number 1s Arturo Coello and Agustin Tapia. The Spanish and the Brazilian defeated Pol Hernandez and Guille Collado 6-3 6-3. Fede Mouriño and Rama Valenzuela will face Fede Chingotto and Ale Galan (2), who are aiming to regain a title that ‘Chingalan’ missed since the Rome Major. Sanyo Gutierrez and Gonza Alfonso will be the opponents of Franco Stupaczuk and Juan Lebron on a day that promises to be unmissable for fans at the Movistar Arena, with 22 matches on three courts and the debut of all the big names in the men’s draw.
