September 30, 2025
Just two days ago, Aranzazu Osoro and Victoria Iglesias lifted the FIP Silver Mediolanum Padel Cup title in Turin (Italy). A plane took them to Rotterdam, where the ‘Vikinga’ and the Spanish made their debut with a victory in the Premier Padel P1 tournament that began in the Netherlands: a 6-2, 6-3 win over Agueda Perez and Marta Borrero that earned them a place in the second round. The winners of the men’s draw in Turin, Aimar Goñi and Lucho Capra, were forced to retire after two sets against José Diestro and Juanlu Esbri. After reaching the semifinals last week in Dusseldorf, Marta Ortega and Tamara Icardo (5) started their Dutch week with a victory, eliminating Bea Caldera and Carmen Goenaga (7-6 6-3) in two hours and 19 minutes. In three sets, Marina Guinart and Veronica Virseda (8) managed to get the better of Noa Canovas and Laia Rodriguez (6-2 4-6 6-2).
TODAY Wednesday, the tournament gets underway with the debut of the men’s champions from Dusseldorf, Fede Chingotto and Ale Galan, who will face Facundo Dominguez and Javi Martinez in the match that will close the day session. Arturo Coello and Agustin Tapia will close the night session at 6:30 p.m. against Enrique Goenaga and Luis Hernandez, on a day that will also see the debut of many new pairs: Guerrero/Gonzalez (7), Sanz/Navarro (5), Libaak-Bautista (13), Alonso/Tello (9), Leal/Bergamini (8), and Cardona/Garrido (10).
