A marathon match lasting two hours and 29 minutes ended 3-6 6-3 7-5, representing the first big surprise of the tournament, along with the victory of Noa Canovas (long-time partner of Velasco) and Laia Rodriguez over Jessica Castelló and Lorena Rufo, semi-finalists last week in the FIP Platinum in Sevilla.
