Day3. Paquito-Bergamini, their last tournament together gets off to a good start

Paquito Navarro and Lucas Bergamini want to enjoy their last tournament as a pair to the fullest. After triumphing last Saturday in the FIP Platinum in Sevilla, the Spanish and the Brazilian got off to a good start in the CUPRA Germany Premier Padel P2, beating Pablo Cardona and Juan Tello 6-4 6-3 in what was the most awaited match of the day at the CASTLE in Düsseldorf. From Rotterdam, Paquito will play with Jon Sanz, Bergamini with Javi Leal: the number 7 seeds will still try to give themselves a good finish. Wednesday’s matches all ended in two sets, with victories for Yanguas/Nieto, Di Nenno/Augsburger and Chingotto/Galan, all already in the quarter-finals, with the other four round of 16 matches (including Arturo Coello and Agustin Tapia against Garcia/Barahona) scheduled for today.

WOMEN There were also clear victories in the first four round of 16 matches in the women’s draw, where both Paula Josemaria and Ari Sanchez and Andrea Ustero and Sofia Araujo conceded four games to Osoro/Iglesias and Collombon/Martinez. Today sees the debut of Delfi Brea and Gemma Triay in the second match of the afternoon session, starting at 5 p.m. versus Lucia Martinez Gomez and Giorgia Marchetti.
