Day6. Number 1 versus number 2: the best of the best in Düsseldorf
September 27, 2025
Number 1 seeds versus number 2 seeds: the finals of the CUPRA Germany Premier Padel P2 will see the world’s best players take to the court, with the CASTELLO in Düsseldorf ready to enjoy a Sunday of great padel from 2 p.m.. Paula Josemaria and Ari Sanchez in the women’s tournament and Fede Chingotto and Ale Galan in the men’s will try to lift a trophy that has been missing for three months, while Delfi Brea and Gemma Triay and Arturo Coello and Agustin Tapia will try to confirm their leadership.
WOMEN Saturday’s four semi-finals all lasted two sets, but the women’s matches were the most evenly balanced. Paula Josemaria and Ari Sanchez, after defeats in the semi-finals in Paris and the quarter-finals in Madrid, will try to win a title that has eluded them this season since Valladolid (four tournaments won in 2025) with a 7-5 6-4 victory over Andrea Ustero and Sofia Araujo. To do this, however, Paula and Ari will have to beat the best pair of 2025, Delfi Brea and Gemma Triay, who have won seven titles and eliminated 6-4 7-5 Marta Ortega and Tamara Icardo, protagonists of a great week, in two hours and six minutes.
MEN Not before 4 p.m., however, Arturo Coello and Agustin Tapia will face Fede Chingotto and Ale Galan, the two pairs who have dominated the world of padel over the last year and a half. Coello and Tapia conceded four games (6-1 6-3) to Momo Gonzalez and Jon Sanz, who thus end their partnership with a semi-final; while “Chingalan” conceded only three (6-1 6-2) to Mike Yanguas and Coki Nieto. Like Paula and Ari (who haven’t won since Valladolid), Fede and Ale haven’t won a tournament since June, when they were crowned champions in Rome. Will the wait end in Düsseldorf?
