Mediolanum Padel Cup Torino, Osoro-Iglesias the stars in Italy

The CUPRA FIP Tour returns to Italy with the FIP Silver Mediolanum Padel Cup in Torino, hosted at the Pala Village in Grugliasco (northern Italy). The main draw includes 32 pairs (26 direct entries plus 4 from qualifiers and 2 wild cards) and a qualifying draw of 32 pairs. In the women’s side, 24 pairs will compete for the fourth title of the season. The tournament will feature a very high level, with 25 players – men and women – from the world top 100.

WOMEN Many titles and top-level players, plus a strong presence of Italy’s European vice-champion team, fill the women’s main draw. The number 1 seeded pair is formed by two big stars: Aranzazu Osoro (world number 15), runner-up with Argentina at the 2024 World Championship, and her partner Victoria Iglesias (21), winner of the circuit Finals at the end of 2024. Right behind them, another strong pair: Virginia Riera (world number 33), also silver medalist at the World Championship in Doha, and Ksenia Sharifova (31), fresh from a quarterfinal run at the Paris Major.

MEN The men’s draw also shines, opening with Alvaro Montiel, recently called up to the Italian National Team for the upcoming FIP Euro Padel Cup, who will play alongside Juan Belluati, aiming for their fourth title of the year on the international tour. Also on the entry list: Javi Ruiz (52), winner of the FIP Silver Mediolanum Padel Cup in Palermo, and Argentine legend Luciano Capra (55). And there will be a special guest: former Polish tennis player Jerzy Janowicz, Wimbledon semifinalist in 2013 (when he reached ATP world number 14) and winner of the Hopman Cup in 2015.
