Reus world capital of the NextGen: from 29 September to 4 October the FIP Junior World Cup Costa Daurada Reus 2025. Carraro: “Represent your country with pride”

A meeting point for young talents and flags from all over the world. Reus is getting ready to host the big NextGen padel event, the FIP Junior World Cup Costa Daurada Reus 2025, from 29 September to 4 October, presented today at the Pabellón Olímpico Municipal. Six intense days will bring together the best national teams in youth categories from all continents: in total 66 teams will take part between the final stage and qualifications, from 36 countries, a new record compared to the 20 in the 2023 edition.

Organised by FIP together with Premier Padel Spain, with the support of the Government of Catalonia, the Province of Tarragona – Costa Daurada and the City of Reus, and in collaboration with the Federación Española de Padel (FEP) and the Federación Catalana de Padel (FCP), the FIP Junior World Cup returns to Europe after the 2023 edition in Asunción, where Spain won both team titles.

To the athletes in this World Cup comes a message from the President of the International Padel Federation, Luigi Carraro: “Dear players, the FIP Junior World Cup is much more than a global competition: it is a time to grow, to compare and to share the true values of sport. You have the privilege to wear your country’s shirt and to represent it with pride, commitment and passion. At the same time, you have the responsibility to live this experience with respect, team spirit and determination. Among you are the champions of the future, those who will bring padel even higher, entering the hearts of the fans and living the responsibility of being role models. Today, I wish you unforgettable days on and off the court, sure that this World Cup will be a fundamental step in your sport and human journey. Enjoy yourselves, be honest and make your country proud of you!”

The FIP Junior World Cup will thus not be just a competition, but a meeting place where the youngest athletes will have the chance to test themselves on a prestigious global stage: with more than 600 pairs registered and participants from all continents, the tournament will combine high competitive level with values like passion, diversity and fair play.

The opening ceremony will be held on 28 September in the streets of Reus, with the parade of flags and national teams. At today’s presentation event participated Sandra Guaita, mayor of Reus; Estefanía Serrano, territorial representative for Sport in Tarragona; Noemí Llauradó, president of the Diputación of Tarragona; Enrique Martín, councilor for Health and Sport of Reus; Ramón Morcillo, president of the Federación Española de Padel and of Padel Europe; Elena Santmartí, vice president of the Federación Catalana de Padel; Aitor Jiménez, executive director of the tournament; and representatives of Club Tennis Reus Monterols and Aurial Pàdel Mas Sedó.

“This is one of the most relevant sports events recently in our city, both for the number of participants and visitors it will attract, and for the international impact it will bring to Reus”, emphasized the mayor Sandra Guaita. An event that “besides the economic impact, is fully aligned with the values we promote as city government: development of grassroots sport, support for young people and promotion of healthy lifestyles”, she added.

The president of the Diputación of Tarragona, Noemí Llauradó, highlighted that this competition “is much more than a sports event: it is the result of joint work between institutions and confirms our commitment to sport and the values it promotes”. The championship, she assured, “represents a strategy to position the Costa Daurada as an international reference in organising sports competitions”.

According to Aitor Jiménez, executive director of the tournament, “holding the FIP Junior World Cup in Reus shows the FIP’s trust in our territory. It is an honour for Octagon to promote an event that not only supports the future of padel, but also allows us to collaborate with the Generalitat de Catalunya, the Diputación de Tarragona and the City of Reus, showing that, united, sport becomes a fundamental tool for the social and economic development of the city”.

Hosting the elite of the global NextGen will be the Pabellón Olímpico Municipal, Club Tennis Reus Monterols and Aurial Pàdel Mas Sedó, but the whole city will transform into the international epicentre of the champions of tomorrow. With this event, the Costa Daurada consolidates its position as a great international showcase for padel, after hosting, from 27 July to 3 August, the Cupra Costa Daurada Tarragona Premier Padel P1. Both events have the institutional support of the Generalitat de Catalunya, the Diputación de Tarragona, the municipalities of Tarragona and Reus and of Octagon Spain, and represent a clear strategy: using sport as a driver of territorial promotion, social cohesion and tourism development.
