Sevilla, Day1 women. Iglesias, Borrero and Lujan make a good start at home. Today the round of 16

The FIP Platinum female tournament has begun at the Icónico Sports Social Club in Sevilla, with 300 FIP ranking points up for grabs for the winners. Ahead of the debut of the top four seeds (Jensen/Alonso, Osoro/Virseda, Salazar/Calvo and Llaguno/Sainz), three home players won their first matches of the tournament.

Victoria Iglesias, seeded number 8 with Marina Guinart, defeated Fernandez de Osso/Polvillo 6-1 6-2, as did Marta Borrero with Agueda Perez, 6-3 6-2 against Portillo/De La Rosa. Laura Lujan, winner of three CUPRA FIP Tour titles this year, also did well, beating Araceli Martinez and Aliz Collombon 6-4 7-6 with Letizia Maria Manquillo.
