Zidane and Gasly crown the champions. Title to Coello-Tapia and Brea-Triay

Zinedine Zidane and Pierre Gasly, football and Formula 1 champions in the stands at Philippe Chatrier and awarding the winners, champions on the court putting on a show with their pala. Arturo Coello, Agustin Tapia, Delfi Brea, Gemma Triay: the Premier Padel Alpine Paris Major, the third of the season, crowned the best pairs in the world, those who are winning the most in 2025. For Coello and Tapia, winning their third consecutive title in France, it is their ninth tournament victory; for Delfi and Gemma, on the other hand, it is their seventh, but they can continue their hunt for a poker of Majors, after victories in Doha and Rome.

WOMEN For the number 1 pair in the draw, in addition to Delfi Brea’s personal satisfaction at being number 2 in the FIP rankings from tomorrow, it was another Sunday of celebration. The final against Marta Ortega and Tamara Icardo ended 7-5 6-2, with a balanced first set in which a break in the eleventh game made the difference and a second set in which Delfi and Gemma’s superior quality and greater experience in playing this type of match came to the fore. However, it remains an unforgettable week for Ortega and Icardo, who along the way eliminated the number 3 seeds (Bea Gonzalez and Claudia Fernandez) and number 2 seeds (Paula Josemaria and Ari Sanchez). “I’m very happy with this victory – said Gemma, speaking in French to the Parisian crowd –. I congratulate the tournament organisers, but also our team, which allows us to achieve these results”. Delfi Brea lost last year’s final alongside Andrea Ustero: “This year was a tough match, but we managed to win it. Thank you all for filling the arena”.

MEN It took Coello and Tapia just one hour and 13 minutes to win another chapter in their endless battle against Fede Chingotto and Ale Galan. The men’s final ended 6-1 6-4, with the world number ones dominating the first set (only three errors); in the second set, however, the break that made the difference came at 2-1. “Every title we win is important – said Coello –. Playing here is wonderful: we work hard to achieve these results, we are an incredible team, a family, and I’m happy to be part of it”. “Playing these tournaments is very tough, but teamwork off the court is worth more than anything”, added Tapia. “It’s great to have entertained so many people; it’s incredibly satisfying for us to be part of this show. We’re having a great time, thank you Paris and thank you France”.

The Qatar Airways Premier Padel Tour is taking a week’s break, with all the attention turning to the FIP Platinum in Sevilla. Then, more tournaments in a row: the P2 in Dusseldorf and the P1 in Rotterdam and Milano.
