Chingotto and Galán: Italy brings good luck. Josemaría and Sánchez, welcome back

Oysho Milano Premier Padel P1 crowned its two winning pairs. In the men’s draw, Fede Chingotto and Ale Galán completed a stunning comeback: after losing the first set, they turned the final around and handed Arturo Coello and Agustín Tapia the first 6–0 defeat of their entire Premier Padel career, despite the world No. 1s having dominated the opening set. For Paula Josemaría and Ari Sánchez, it was their first title in Milan, ending a drought of more than three months without a trophy. All of this happened in a sold-out arena, with over 35,000 spectators filling the Allianz Cloud throughout the week.

MEN In the men’s final, which ended 2-6 6-3 6-0, the world No. 1s made the first move in the third game, breaking serve and then doubling their advantage to go up 4-1, closing the set 6-2. But a break by Chingotto and Galán in the second game of the second set reopened the match. The No. 2 seeds held their lead and pushed the contest to a decisive third set. Another early break gave Chingotto and Galán control, which they consolidated with a second break for 3-0. After saving four break points, they surged to 4-0 and widened the gap even further with a third break, sealing an emphatic victory. The 6-0 scoreline was unprecedented, surpassing even the three 6–1 defeats that Coello and Tapia had previously suffered, all against Chingotto and Galán, all in Italy.  A country that clearly brings them luck: across Rome, Genova, and now Milano, the duo have collected four titles between 2024 and 2025. “We have a special bond with Italy, and winning this tournament in Milan is very emotional – said Galán –. Since we arrived, we had the feeling we could do really well, and we’re proud to have achieved it in front of such an incredible crowd. Thank you all for the support. it’s always wonderful to play here”“I don’t know what it is about Italy, but it’s always special to win here, thank you all for the love and support – added Chingotto –. I want to congratulate Agus and Arturo: they’re incredible opponents who push us to our physical and mental limits; they’re an amazing team. What changed in the second set? We had to demand more from ourselves, but I have the best partner beside me, and he trusts me”.

WOMEN For the eighth time in nine meetings, Paula Josemaría and Ari Sánchez defeated Bea González and Claudia Fernandez, this time in Milan, 6-2, 6-4 in one hour and 26 minutes. Ari and Paula made their move in the fourth game of the first set to go ahead and closed it 6–2. The second set was more balanced, with Sánchez and Josemaría serving for the title at 5–3, then sealing victory 6–4 after coming back from 0–30. “Winning such an important tournament is an incredible feeling”, said Ari. “We really wanted to do well because we know how special it is to play at the Allianz Cloud and how passionate the fans are”. For the new queens of Milano, this marks their fifth title of the season, their first since Valladolid last June. “The past few weeks have been key to finding our best version again”, added Paula. “We’ve rediscovered the connection and unity that define us. We’re a complete team, and that makes us happy, especially after a difficult period. Even when things weren’t going well, we kept working, giving our best, and maintaining trust in each other”.
