Day3. Hernandez-Collado, what a feat! Round of 16 on Thursday
October 8, 2025
The first big surprise of the Oysho Milano Premier Padel P1 came in the last match of the day: Pol Hernandez, who already gave Fede Chingotto and Ale Galan a hard time last year when paired with Rama Valenzuela, and Guille Collado defeated the number 4 seeds Coki Nieto and Mike Yanguas in three sets (6-3 3-6 6-3). It was an impressive performance by the respective numbers 46 and 55 in the FIP ranking, who “open” the draw at the bottom, while at the top Arturo Coello and Agustin Tapia, after 48 minutes and ahead by a set and a break, benefited from the withdrawal of Portuguese brothers Nuno and Miguel Deus, the latter stopped by a physical problem. Four (6-2 6-2) games conceded by Fede Chingotto and Ale Galan (2) to Clement Geens and Alejandro Jerez, while Franco Stupaczuk and Juan Lebron (3) had to suffer to get the better (6-3 7-5) of David Gala and Alex Chozas, to whom “Stupa” and “Lobo” did not concede any break points. Tomorrow the round of 16 will be scheduled, with Coello and Tapia playing versus Juanlu Esbri and Alex Ruiz (15) in the afternoon session and “Chingalan” facing Edu Alonso and Juan Tello (9) in the evening. Keep an eye out for the Argentine derby between Di Nenno/Augsburger (6) and qualifiers Lamperti/De Pascual.
WOMEN Thursday will also be the day of the first four seeds in the women’s draw, who will make their debut at the Allianz Cloud. In the morning, Paula Josemaria and Ari Sanchez (2) will play Noa Canovas and Laia Rodriguez; not before 6 p.m., Delfi Brea and Gemma Triay (1) will find Raquel Eugenio and Jimena Velasco. Bea Gonzalez and Claudia Fernandez (3) will also play their first match in Milano, as will Andrea Ustero and Sofia Araujo (4). Finally, the Allianz Cloud crowd will be cheering on Carolina Orsi, who will open the programme at 9.30 a.m. with Martina Fassio against Martina Calvo and Ale Salazar. The Oysho Milano Premier Padel P1 is getting into full swing.
