FIP Asia and Euro Padel Cup, from October 17 to 25 the global celebration of padel

Two continental team tournaments in the same week, with a record number of teams and countries participating, from Portugal to Japan. International padel is set to experience a historic moment with the FIP Asia Padel Cup in Doha, Qatar, from October 17–24, and the Final 8 of the FIP Euro Padel Cup in La Línea de la Concepción, Spain, from October 21–25.

These prestigious events are a clear sign of padel’s global growth and the increasing importance of nation-based competitions. Both tournaments feature formats designed to allow participation from all countries, with preliminary rounds giving more teams the chance to compete, reflecting the International Padel Federation’s commitment to inclusion and the development of the sport worldwide.

THE BEST OF ASIA The first edition of the FIP Asia Padel Cup, promoted by the FIP together with the Qatar Tennis Federation (QTF) and Padel Asia, takes place at the prestigious Khalifa International Tennis and Squash Complex, one of the world’s most iconic venues for racquet sports, which hosted last year’s FIP World Padel Championships. The initial phase runs from October 17–19, with the top teams from each group advancing to the Final 8, scheduled for October 20–24.

Seventeen teams compete in the men’s tournament: Bahrain, China, Indonesia, Japan, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Pakistan, Philippines, Saudi Arabia, South Korea, Thailand, UAE, Qatar, Australia, and Iran, with the last four already qualified for the finals based on the FIP Ranking. In the women’s category, there are 14 teams: Bahrain, China, Indonesia, Kuwait, Lebanon, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Thailand, UAE, Qatar, Japan, Australia, Philippines, and Iran, with Australia, Japan, Iran, and the Philippines already qualified for the Final 8.

EUROPE’S TOP TEAMS At the same time as the Asian competition, the FIP Euro Padel Cup — the new format building on the legacy of the FIP European Padel Championships — enters its decisive phase in La Línea de la Concepción. From October 20–25, the Final 8 for men and women will be played, organized by the FIP with support from the Diputación Provincial de Cádiz, the Spanish Padel Federation (FEP), and the Andalusian Padel Federation (FAP).

Four teams qualified directly based on the FIP Ranking, while four more advance from Phases 1 and 2 in Madrid, held in July, which featured 66 teams across men’s and women’s events —an increase of 15 national teams compared to the 2024 European Championships. In the men’s tournament, the title contenders are Spain, Italy, Portugal, and France (directly qualified), joined by Great Britain, Netherlands, Sweden, and Germany. In the women’s tournament, the competing teams are Spain, Italy, France, and Portugal, together with Great Britain, Netherlands, Germany, and Belgium.

Both events mark a turning point for international padel: their innovative formats and record national participation show the growing importance of team competitions, which are becoming increasingly strategic in promoting the sport, developing local talent, and strengthening the global padel community.
