first phase done! Here are the teams moving on to the quarterfinals

Three full days of action and talent wrapped up the first phase of the FIP Junior World Cup in Reus, Spain, the tournament for the best NextGen padel players. Day 3 saw the top eight male and female teams advance to the quarterfinals tomorrow – girls at 9 AM, boys not before 1 PM.

 

In the men’s draw, Spain finished top of Group A with a 3-0 win over Italy, setting up a clash with Mexico, who were beaten 2-1 by Argentina in Group C – Italy will face Argentina in the quarters. Group D went down to the wire: Brazil topped Paraguay and Venezuela based on the head-to-head ranking and will play Sweden, while Paraguay faces France, who topped Group B.

 

In the women’s tournament, Spain and Argentina also shone, finishing their groups unbeaten by beating Mexico and France, respectively. In the quarterfinals, Spain will face Italy, who lost 2-1 to Portugal today (Portugal will play Egypt, who advanced after a 3-0 win over Germany). Argentina will take on Sweden, and Brazil’s girls, finishing first in their group, are set to face France.
