The event will culminate on Friday, October 24, when the title of Asian Champion will be awarded.
MEN Among the men, Kuwait (Group A) secured qualification after defeating Indonesia. Also celebrating were Pakistan (3-0 over Thailand, Group B), Jordan (3-0 against South Korea, Group C), and Lebanon in Group D, thanks to their 2-1 victory over Kazakhstan. These four teams join the United Arab Emirates, Iran, Qatar, and Australia, who had already qualified for the Final 8. Standing out in Team Australia is the presence of Pat Rafter, former world No. 1 in tennis, who has already taken part in padel events on the CUPRA FIP Tour and represented his country in the FIP Seniors Padel Championships.
WOMEN In the third tie of Phase 2 in the women’s draw, Thailand (2-1 over Lebanon, Group A), Indonesia (which had already clinched qualification after the first two ties in Group B), the United Arab Emirates, and Saudi Arabia secured their spots. The UAE team took first place in Group C after winning their direct encounter. Japan, Australia, Philippines and Iran were qualified to the Final 8 by ranking.
In the afternoon, the group stage draw for the Final 8 was held in Doha. The tournament will kick off on Monday, preceded by the opening ceremony at 9:30 a.m. local time (8:30 a.m. CET).
