San Diego, Di Francesco and Alvarez aim for another title
October 31, 2025
From Texas to California, it’s time for another CUPRA FIP Tour “made in USA” event. After the historic FIP Bronze in Austin, the first ever FIP tournament played in the U.S., San Diego is ready to host the FIP Silver, running through Sunday. Thirty-two pairs will hit the courts at Padel N9NE for the men’s draw. At the top of the bracket are Sweden’s Simon Vasquez and Spain’s Luis Oliver Artigas, while Miguel Gonzalez and Albert Trillas lead the bottom half. Among the home favorites is Vinny Di Francesco, USA’s No. 1 player, who just won the Austin event two weeks ago alongside Argentina’s Octavio Alvarez. Keep an eye also on Nico Agritelley, and the all-American duo Jose De Armas/Raul Ruiz, the top-ranked U.S. pair in the draw.
In the women’s draw, the top seeds are Catarina Santos (Portugal) and Camila Ramme (Mexico). Chasing them are Manuela Schuck (Brazil) and Aitana Garcia (Spain). American players are shining here too: Brittany Dubins, USA’s No. 1, teams up with Anna Cortiles. Dubins is going for her third CUPRA FIP Tour title, after wins in Aveiro (Portugal) and Austin. Meanwhile, Marta Morga joins forces with Mexico’s Renata Martinez, both looking to earn valuable FIP World Ranking points.
