Day2. “Chingalan” comeback. Paula and Ari ready to make their debut

After their triumph in the FIP World Cup Pairs, Fede Chingotto and Ale Galan’s debut in the Premier Padel Dubai P1 was not the easiest: credit goes to Lucho Capra and Aimar Goñi, who won the first set of the second round match. However, the quality of “Chingalan” came to the fore in the end, as they won 5-7, 6-4, 6-1. The number 2 seeds in the draw will face Guille Collado and Pol Hernandez in the round of 16 tomorrow, one of two pairs who eliminated a seeded team, the number 10, on the second day of the men’s draw. Collado and Hernandez defeated Javi Garcia and Javier Barahona 6-1, 6-1. The other surprise was the 7-6, 6-4 victory by Andres Fernandez Lancha and Nachi Sager over Sanyo Gutierrez and Gonza Alfonso (14). Arturo Coello and Agustin Tapia defeated Icardo/Jurado 6-1, 6-1 and will face Tolito Aguirre and Alex Chozas (16) in the round of 16.

WOMEN Tomorrow, all eyes will be on the debut of world champions Paula Josemaria and Ari Sanchez who, four days after winning the FIP World Cup Pairs title, will open the programme on centre court at 12 p.m. local time (9 a.m. CET) versus Martina Fassio and Patty Llaguno. Delfi Brea and Gemma Triay (1) also return to the court versus Bea Caldera and Carmen Goenaga, the third match of a morning session that will also see the debut of Claudia Fernandez and Bea Gonzalez (3) versus Aranzazu Osoro and Victoria Iglesias and Andrea Ustero and Sofia Araujo (4) on court number 1 versus Lucia Martinez and Nuria Rodriguez.
