Day3. Lebron-Augsburger, a good debut. Today it’s time for the queens
November 27, 2025
The anticipation on Day 3 of the Premier Padel GNP Acapulco Major was all about the two new pairs in the men’s draw: one making their absolute debut, the other reuniting after a year and a half. Both Juan Lebron and Leo Augsburger, as well as the “Superpibes” Franco Stupaczuk and Martin Di Nenno, passed their first test in Mexico. Lebron and Augsburger spent 53 minutes on court before defeating Guille Collado and Pol Hernandez 6-3 6-4; the two Argentinians, on the other hand, beat Alvaro Montiel and Juan Cruz Belluati 6-4 6-0. There were few problems as well for Fede Chingotto and Ale Galan (2), who won 6-0 6-1 against Enrique Goenaga and Luis Hernandez (in the round of 16 they will face Edu Alonso and Juan Tello, still fighting for a place at the Finals), while José Diestro and Victor Ruiz (16) will be the first opponents of Arturo Coello and Agustin Tapia. One of the surprises of the second round was the win by Tino Libaak and Jairo Bautista over Javi Leal and Lucas Bergamini (8), defeated 6-7 6-3 7-5.
WOMEN On Thursday, with the program starting at 4 p.m. local time (11 p.m. CET), it will be the debut day for the top four seeded pairs. The hunt of Delfi Brea and Gemma Triay for their fourth Major of 2025 after Doha, Rome, and Paris will begin against Martina Fassio and Patty Llaguno (6-0 6-3 over Martinez Gomez/Rodriguez); Paula Josemaria and Ari Sanchez will instead face Jessica Castelló and Lorena Rufo (6-4 6-4 against Marta Caparros and Agueda Perez). Claudia Fernandez and Bea Gonzalez (3) will start their week against Marta Barrera and Jimena Velasco, while Andrea Ustero and Sofia Araujo (4) will take on Bea Caldera and Carmen Goenaga. Carolina Navarro’s last Premier Padel tournament of her career is not over: the Swede, playing alongside Melania Merino, defeated Virginia Riera and Ana Catarina Nogueira, and in the round of 16 will meet Marina Guinart and Veronica Virseda (8).
