Day5. Goenaga-Caldera, last call for the Finals. Chingalan-Lebron-Augsburger, it will be a show

The victory of Fede Chingotto and Ale Galan over Gonza Alfonso and Sanyo Gutierrez, and that of Juan Lebrón and Leo Augsburger over Javi García and Javier Barahona, completed the list of the 16 players qualified for the Barcelona Finals. Javi Leal, who had already been eliminated from the Premier Padel GNP Acapulco Major, can therefore celebrate securing the last ticket to the Palau Sant Jordi. The Mexican tournament, however, goes on and delivers a star-studded semifinal: in their first tournament together, Lebron and Augsburger will try to push even further, but they will have to overcome the resistance of the No. 2 seeds, who managed to come back from a set down against Gonza and Sanyo. The top-half semifinal will instead be between Arturo Coello and Agustín Tapia (6-4 6-4 against Momo Gonzalez and Fran Guerrero) and the pair formed by Paquito Navarro and Jon Sanz, who ended the comeback tournament of Franco Stupaczuk and Martin Di Nenno, defeated 6-3 6-4.

WOMEN Among the women, there are still two spots available for the Finals. Bea Caldera and Carmen Goenaga have their destiny in their own hands: if they win against Delfi Brea and Gemma Triay – already sure to finish the year at the top of the FIP ranking – the two Spaniards would overtake Marina Guinart and Veronica Virseda, who were defeated in three sets (6-4 0-6 6-4) in their direct quarterfinal clash. The bottom-half semifinal will instead feature Claudia Fernandez and Bea Gonzalez (3), who advanced thanks to a 7-6 6-2 win over Lucia Sainz and Raquel Eugenio, facing Claudia Jensen and Ale Alonso, who beat Jessica Castelló and Lorena Rufo 6-2 2-6 6-4.
