Fede Chingotto: “It’s the same excitement, the same passion as the World Cup by teams, Ale and I becoming world champions would be incredible!”

A different World Cup, but with the same emotions as last year’s team event in Doha. Another unique experience for Fede Chingotto, one of the most anticipated players at the FIP World Cup Pairs. “The name of the tournament says it all: being world champion is something incredible”, he says from one of the lounges at Arena Kuwait, where fans are lining up to ask for a selfie or an autograph. “It’s a special tournament for everyone. You can feel a different atmosphere precisely because of that, because of what’s at stake. All of this obviously makes the tournament even more meaningful for us players”.

He’s already felt the joy of winning a World Cup wearing Argentina’s jersey, having been a key player at the FIP World Padel Championships in Doha 2024. A victory that will forever mark “Chingo’s” career, and he shares both the feelings from that experience in Qatar and the ones he’s living this week in Kuwait. “I’m experiencing it the same way, with the same passion. Representing Argentina, of course, is something very special, no doubt about that —he explains—. But winning it with Ale (Galán) would be amazing and extraordinary. So I’m living it with the same intensity, the same passion, and the same emotions”.

And it’s not just the professional athlete speaking, the one who’s won the most prestigious tournaments in the world and reached the top of the rankings, but also the little Chingotto who learned to play padel and dreamed big: “That kid is always there inside me —he concludes with a smile—, and that’s why I approach the FIP World Cup with so much excitement and enthusiasm”.
