In the main draw also the 17-year-olds Castaño and Zamora

Two 17-year-old players are in the main draw of the FIP World Cup Pairs. Manuel Castaño and Juan “Coquito” Zamora, both born in 2008, earned their spots in the last day of the men’s qualifying rounds at the Arena Kuwait. Castaño, playing with Italian Flavio Abbate, won the final round (7-6 6-5) against Giulio Graziotti and Simone Iacovino, who are Abbate’s national teammates and with whom he just won bronze at the FIP Euro Padel Cup. In his first tournament with Rafa Méndez, Coquito Zamora also celebrated after a 6-2 6-4 win over Alejandro Jerez and Miguel Lamperti. Zamora and Méndez will face Emilio Sánchez and Enzo Jensen in the first round, while Castaño and Abbate will play against Collado/Hernandez.
Luciano Capra and Aimar Goñi also made it through qualifying after a 6-2 6-4 win over Adrian Marquez and Adam Axelsson. They will debut in the main draw against Aris Patiniotis and Jesús Moya, while brothers Pedro and Álvaro Melendez will face Ramiro Valenzuela and Fede Mouriño, after winning 6-2 6-4 against Mario Ortega and Mario Huete.
