FIP Promises 2025, a record weekend: over 1,000 talents on court while waiting for the Finals
December 4, 2025
The season of the FIP Promises, the circuit dedicated to the NextGen of the International Padel Federation, is coming to an end with record numbers. Two weeks before the FIP Promises Finals, scheduled from 19 to 21 December in Alicante (Spain), the young padel talents are the protagonists in the three final events of the season. Across Europe, Asia and Africa, a total of 1,078 entries were recorded in the men’s and women’s Under 12, Under 14, Under 16 and Under 18 draws: an unprecedented number that shows the constant growth of the circuit.
In the tournament of El Prat in Barcelona, a total of 580 players signed up, the highest number ever recorded in a single FIP Promises event in 2025. This level was also confirmed in the tournament scheduled in South Africa, in Fourways, where the third stage of the FIP Promises season strengthened the positive trend: from the 180 entries in the July tournament in Centurion, to the 240 in October in Johannesburg, reaching 340 this weekend, almost doubling the number from the start of the season. This trio of events ends with the tournament in Dubai, the second of the season in the United Arab Emirates, with more than 150 athletes competing.
The growth of the circuit is also reflected in the number of tournaments organised by the International Padel Federation: 90 in 2025, with an increase of 120% compared to the 41 in 2024 (there were 18 in 2023 and 12 in 2022). This development led the FIP to create a new global structure, which from next year will include continental circuits for all categories: FIP Promises Europe, America, Asia/Oceania and Africa, with men’s and women’s rankings for the Under 12, 14, 16 and 18 categories, and Finals divided by continent. From 2027, a global Under 18 circuit will also be launched, made up of 10 international tournaments and a Final Master reserved for the players with the highest ranking from each continental circuit. At the end of each season, the FIP Promises Award will also be created, dedicated to the top 10 players of the global circuit, who will be able to take part in selected events of Premier Padel and the CUPRA FIP Tour of the following year.
