From the legend Salazar to the home idol Ustero, behind the favorites there is a full of stars

The stars of the world tour and their desire of consecration: here they are, the protagonists of the Premier Padel Finals scheduled from 11 to 14 December at the Palau Sant Jordi in Barcelona. Among them, in the female constellation there is one of the players who have made the history of padel, a legend like Ale Salazar who, at almost 40 years old (and not feeling them) and after having announced that the next will be her last season, will try to write history together with the young talent Martina Calvo, in her first time in the Finals. “We do not stop improving, growing and being always closer to the best ones”, confirmed Salazar –winner of the FIP Platinum Lione exactly with Calvo– after the defeat in the quarterfinals of the Dubai P1 against the world champions in charge (and much, much more…) Ari Sanchez and Paula Josemaria, who they will face again in the quarterfinals exactly in Barcelona, in their last tournament together after five years of triumphs.

Among the couples that do not start in pole but can transform the Finals into a flight towards the history, here Sofia Araujo and Andrea Ustero – let us expect banners and deafening cheering: Andrea, born and grown in Barcelona, is the idol of the Palau Sant Jordi – for a long time steadily in the gotha of world padel. The victories in the Bordeaux P2 and, for Ustero, also of the FIP Platinum of Puebla, are there to confirm sensations and hopes, are there to confirm sensations and hopes, without forgetting, among the others, the exploits at the FIP World Cup Pairs, at the P1 of Dubai and Milano and at the Alpine Paris Major, where they reached the semifinals, results that indicate them as great protagonists in Barcelona. On the other side of the net against them, already in the quarterfinals, there will be Marta Ortega and Tamara Icardo. The numbers 9 and 10 of the FIP ranking arrive from a season rich of big results like the finals of the Alpine Paris Major and of the Malaga P1.

Among the candidates for a place in the history of the Finals, here Claudia Jensen (also winner of the CUPRA FIP Finals 2025 together with Aranzazu Osoro) and Ale Alonso, among the youngest, most talented and most united couples of the circuit, for a long time at the highest levels. For them the 2025 season: victory in the FIP Platinum of Sevilla, the triumph of Alonso in the FIP Platinum of Puebla and a constant presence among the first four couples between Major and P1 – from Acapulco to Rotterdam, Malaga, until Bordeaux and Santiago. Results that show their continuity of results and that in Barcelona will be immediately tested with the debut match against Bea González and Claudia Fernández, third couple in the world and candidates for the title.

And exactly in the FIP Platinum of Sevilla, Jensen and Alonso beat in a very balanced final the other outsider Veronica Virseda. “To participate again in the Premier Padel Finals makes me very happy and excites me because looking back I recognize all my sacrifices. It has not been an easy year, but I am proud to have reached this goal”, the words of the number 14 in the world and third in the CUPRA FIP Finals. In Barcelona she enters the court together with the winner of those Finals, Marina Guinart – last year she played with Delfi Brea because of the injury of Bea Gonzalez in the P1 of Milano – in search of the Great Dream in the Finals after having reached the semifinals in the Major in Qatar.
