Comunidad Valenciana I: Patiniotis and Torre lead the draw, Sharifova-Borrero back together

Their first tournament together ended with a semifinal at the FIP Silver in Caen. Just a few days later, Aris Patiniotis and Agustin Torre top the entry list for the FIP Bronze Comunidad Valenciana I. In Beniparrell, just outside Valencia, the Italian-Argentine pair lead a 32-team draw and are set to make their debut against Alejandro Garcia and Karlos Rodriguez. In the bottom half of the draw, Jaume Romera and Pau Miñano (2) stand out, also coming off a semifinal, this time at the FIP Bronze Mallorca. Among the seeded players is local favourite Javi Rico, partnering Christian Fuster (sixth seed). Ferran Insa also arrives from the Caen semifinals, this time playing alongside Albert Roglan.

In the women’s draw, it will be the first tournament of 2026 for Ksenia Sharifova and Marta Borrero, the top seeds ahead of Lucia Martinez and Lucia Peralta. “We’re back on the road together. The 2026 season is underway!”, Sharifova said a few days ago, after announcing in mid-January the reunion with the Spanish player following their split at the end of 2023. Also in the title race are Anna Ortiz and Aida Martinez, back in action after their Caen semifinal, as well as Carlotta Casali, who will be playing this time with Ana Dominguez.
