Melbourne Padel Open, the CUPRA FIP Tour 2026 trip kicks off in Australia, waiting for Sara Errani
January 7, 2026
The great journey of the CUPRA FIP Tour 2026, the circuit of the International Padel Federation (FIP), traditionally begins in Australia. A journey that will span five continents and lead fans throughout the year. The opening stop is Melbourne, which over the course of two weeks will host both an FIP Bronze and an FIP Silver tournament. In the FIP Bronze scheduled at iPadel Melbourne, there will be four players ranked in the world top 100. Among them is Italian Simone Cremona (No. 97), the top seed in the men’s draw alongside Dutchman Sten Richters, as well as a two-time title winner at the end of last season in Doha and Crete.
Also competing are British players Aimee Gibson and Catherine Rose, ranked No. 82 and No. 98 respectively in the FIP women’s rankings, and winners last year of the two season-opening tournaments in Australia. Germany’s Victoria Kurz (No. 81) is the highest-ranked player on court and, as the No. 2 seed, will compete alongside Spain’s Eugenia Guimet. In the entry list for the second Melbourne event, a FIP Silver, there is also Sara Errani, a tennis champion who already competed in FIP tournaments last year as well as in the Rome Major.
