Day3. Paula and Bea, Ari and Andrea, Claudia and Sofia: the day of firsts times

At the Padel Rush Arena, it was a day of firsts: Paula Josemaria and Bea Gonzalez, Ari Sanchez and Andrea Ustero, Claudia Fernandez and Sofia Araujo. The ‘women’s revolution’ of the Premier Padel circuit, with three changes of pairs among the world’s top four. The debut of all three new ‘parejas’ was victorious: in the round of 16 of Riyadh Season P1, Paulita and Bea defeated Noa Canovas and Laia Rodriguez 6-3 6-2; Andrea and Ari beat Marta Talavan and Sofia Saiz 6-0, 7-6; Claudia and Sofia overcame Araceli Martinez and Carolina Orsi 7-5, 6-3. All this happened on a day when Delfi Brea and Gemma Triay started their 2026 with a 6-3, 6-3 win over Martina Fassio and Patty Llaguno – a confirmation amid many novelties.

MEN In the men’s draw, the dream week of Javi Martinez and Rama Valenzuela continues: starting from the qualifiers, the Spanish and Argentine pair defeated Manuel Castaño and Inigo Jofre 6-4 6-3, earning a quarter-final against Juan Lebron and Leo Augsburger, which will close the schedule on Court 1. After losing a set in their debut against Guichard and Blanqué, Arturo Coello and Agustin Tapia won their round of 16 in straight sets and in two tiebreaks against Jairo Bautista and Lucas Campagnolo. In two sets (6-3 6-2), Fede Chingotto and Ale Galan (2) defeated Javi Garcia and Javier Barahona, and Mike Yanguas and Franco Stupaczuk (3) beat Alex Ruiz and Juanlu Esbri. Applause also for Edu Alonso and Juan Tello, who advanced thanks to a 6-2 4-6 7-5 win over Momo Gonzalez and Martin Di Nenno (6).
