Day2. Bautista-Campagnolo and Hernandez-Collado, big upsets
March 19, 2026
Two standout results marked the second day of Premier Padel Cancún P2. While awaiting the debut of the world’s top pairs, scheduled for today (play begins at 9:00 local time, 15:00 CET), the spotlight was taken by Jairo Bautista and Lucas Campagnolo, who recorded a clear win over the number 5 seeds in the draw, Coki Nieto and Jon Sanz. A 6-2 6-0 result sends the Spaniard and the Brazilian into the round of 16, alongside a pair that has been delivering strong results at the start of the season: following two titles on the CUPRA FIP Tour, Pol Hernandez and Guille Collado repeated their round of 16 appearance in Gijon by defeating the number 6 seeds, Martin Di Nenno and Momo Gonzalez, in two tie-breaks.
WOMEN In the women’s draw, Jessica Castelló and Lorena Rufo will be the first opponents of Delfi Brea and Gemma Triay, defending champions in Mexico. Opening the programme on the Cancha Central will be Ari Sanchez and Andrea Ustero against Marta Barrera and Jimena Velasco. Also on Centre Court, in the afternoon session starting at 16:00 local time, Paula Josemaria and Bea Gonzalez will face Bea Caldera and Carmen Goenaga, followed by the top three pairs in the men’s draw: in order, Chingotto/Galan against Garcia/Barahona, Stupaczuk/Yanguas against Alonso/Tello and Coello/Tapia against Lijó/Arce.
