Egypt, the Meléndez brothers target victory

Following two semi-final appearances at the FIP Bronze events in Agrigento and Mallorca, the pair formed by brothers Pedro Meléndez and Alvaro Meléndez travel to Egypt aiming to secure their first title of the year at the FIP Bronze WePadel Tournament in Alexandria. Main draw matches will be played from 5 to 8 March, with 40 points available to the winners to climb the FIP Ranking. The tournament’s second-seeded pair is Rodrigo Coello, making his seasonal debut on the CUPRA FIP TOUR, alongside Albert Roglan. The number 3 seeds are Pepe Aliaga and Luis Oliver Artigas.

Following her final at the FIP Bronze in Mallorca, Marta Arellano returns to competition, this time partnering Marìa Portillo. The two lead the women’s entry list. They are followed by Spaniards Lucia Fernandez and Rebeca Lopez. The third pair is composed of Spain’s Carla Fitó and the Netherlands’ Marcella Koek, who reunite after competing together at the FIP Platinum in Marseille. The top three pairs in the women’s draw will begin their campaigns directly from the quarter-finals.
