Joinville, Julia Giusti Gomes confirms her title as queen in Brazil

A memorable weekend for Julia Giusti Gomes, one of the most promising talents in Brazilian padel and a participant in the 2024 FIP World Padel Championships in Qatar. At the FIP Promises Joinville, the young player from Pelotas secured victory in the Under 18 girls’ draw alongside Ana Julia Acunha, without dropping a set (conceding just five games) throughout the entire tournament. It is another demonstration of talent from the 16-year-old — who will turn 17 in September — adding to the quarter-final she reached in the FIP Bronze played at the same time with Gabriela Barreto, also in Joinville, where they were defeated by the finalist pair Cirne / Schuck. It marks another title for the pair Giusti Gomes – Acunha on the FIP Promises Tour, following their successes last year in Santa Maria, Rio Grande and Porto Alegre, all in Brazil.

In this latest event dedicated to the leading talents of the NextGen, a total of six draws were contested — three boys’ and three girls’. In the Under 14 category, victories went to Paraguay’s Jose Unger – Hector Par Zorrilla and to the home pair Lais Malho – Valentina Wienke. In the Under 16 category, wins were secured by the top-seeded pairs Frederico De Marco – Luca Formigheri and Cecilia Almeida – Martina Hossen. In the oldest category, alongside Ana Julia Acunha – Julia Giusti Gomes, the men’s title was won by Nathan De Barros and Lucca Carlesso.
