Solano Marmolejo and Pereyra surprise in Siracusa

A surprise victory in the men’s draw at the FIP Bronze in Siracusa: the pair José Solano Marmolejo–Ramiro Pereyra claimed the title by defeating Mario Huete and Italy’s Marco Cassetta in the final (6-3 6-1). In the semi-finals, the tournament winners had beaten the No.1 seeds Marc Sintes and Dani Santigosa in three sets (4-6 6-3 7-5). The latter had already won a CUPRA FIP Tour event in 2026: the FIP Silver in Caen, France. “Great Ramiro, we made a big effort to reach a very good level and manage to beat strong pairs – he said after the victory -.Now we are thinking about the next tournaments”. Pereyra also commented on the triumph: “Champions! We played difficult matches and finished in the best possible way. This was our first tournament together, let’s keep it going. After a period when things didn’t work out, this feels twice as good. Thanks to everyone who supported us”.
The queens of the new CUPRA FIP Tour stop in Sicily were Leti Manquillo and Noemì Aguilar. The Spanish pair, after defeating Elsa Terranova and Angelin Neizvestnaya in the semi-finals (6-1 6-2), beat the No.1 seeds Marina Lobo and Lara Arruabarena in the final in two sets (6-3 6-3). “Champions in Siracusa – Manquillo wrote after the victory -. We have won this FIP title in Italy. Thanks to the organisation for the treatment they gave us over these days”. Aguilar was equally enthusiastic: “We are always happy when we come together and play as a pair: Bichi, you played an incredible weekend. Thanks to everyone who supported us, even from afar”.
