The Day2 of the Lotto Brussels Premier Padel P2 was also played in front of an outstanding crowd. Fans filled the Gare Maritime – Tour & Taxis on Wednesday, as the draws were brought into line with the round of 16 scheduled for today, which will see the debut of the world’s top pairs in both the men’s and women’s competitions.

 

Meanwhile, three pairs have reached the round of 16 after coming through qualifying. In the men’s draw, Agustin Gutierrez and Salva Oria defeated Javier Barahona and Gonza Alfonso 7-5 6-4; in the women’s draw, the same path was followed by Nuria Rodriguez and Giulia Dal Pozzo (3-6 6-4 6-1 against Julieta Bidahorria and Marta Caparros) and by Noemi Aguilar and Leti Manquillo (6-2 6-1 against Marta Borrero and Ksenia Sharifova).

 

Bea Gonzalez and Paula Josemaria, champions in Miami and Newgiza, will open the programme on centre court against Carolina Orsi and Patty Llaguno; on the same court, Fede Chingotto and Ale Galan will then make their debut against Juanlu Esbri and Alex Ruiz. In the afternoon session, starting at 17:00, Delfi Brea and Gemma Triay will face Marta Barrera and Jimena Velasco, followed by Franco Stupaczuk and Mike Yanguas against Belgium’s Clement Geens and France’s Dylan Guichard, and finally Arturo Coello and Agustin Tapia against Tolito Aguirre and Alex Arroyo.
