FIP Junior Africa Padel Cup: Egypt to host the historic first edition from 17 to 20 June 2026 in Alexandria

  • Global NextGen Padel writes a new and significant chapter in its history. Following the allocation of the FIP Junior Euro Padel Cup to Portugal, a key piece is added to the global youth Padel framework developed by FIP: Africa officially enters the calendar of major events dedicated to young athletes

  • Egypt further confirms its role as a strategic hub for the African continent: in 2027, it will host FIP Africa Padel Cup and, as highlighted in the FIP World Padel Report 2025, the country – also thanks to the extensive work of the Egyptian Padel Federation – stands among the leading nations on the continent, with 1,500 courts and 380,000 players

Global NextGen Padel writes another important chapter in its history. Following the allocation of the FIP Junior Euro Padel Cup to Portugal, the International Padel Federation has selected Alexandria, Egypt, to host the first edition of FIP Junior Africa Padel Cup, scheduled from 17 to 20 June 2026, with the opening ceremony set for 16 June.

The selection of Egypt as host of FIP Junior Africa Padel Cup 2026 reflects the country’s remarkable growth trajectory, recognised worldwide and placing Egypt at the forefront of the continental movement. The country chosen to host this major event dedicated to Africa’s NextGen has become a reference point for global Padel, as demonstrated by the successful staging of the NewGiza P2 – an elite event of the Premier Padel Tour – held last week.

STRATEGIC HUB Egypt’s key role in the global development of Padel is also reflected in the data from the FIP World Padel Report 2025, according to which the country has 1,500 courts and a base of more than 380,000 amateur players. These figures underline the overwhelming passion for the sport and make Alexandria the ideal stage for the debut of the continental tournament dedicated to Africa’s NextGen. The tournament, featuring the top Under 14, Under 16 and Under 18 players in both boys’ and girls’ categories, also represents an important step in a pathway that will continue next year: Egypt has already been designated as host of FIP Africa Padel Cup 2027.

BEYOND THE COURT Beyond the competitive dimension, FIP Junior Africa Padel Cup fully reflects the Federation’s vision beyond the court. Bridging distances, encouraging dialogue and exchange between different cultures, and promoting universal values such as coexistence, friendship and fair play are central to the Federation’s social vision. In a vast and diverse continent, Padel becomes a shared language for hundreds of young people, offering an opportunity to grow both as athletes and as individuals, in a spirit of inclusion, healthy competition and positive lifestyles.

THE PROGRAMME The event will officially open on 16 June with the opening ceremony and the draw. Matches will begin on Wednesday 17 June and will culminate in the finals on Saturday 20 June, when the first historic Junior continental titles in Africa will be awarded.

CARRARO “The allocation of the first edition of FIP Junior Africa Padel Cup to Egypt represents a historic moment for our sport and for the entire international youth movement”, said International Padel Federation President Luigi Carraro, who added: “I would like to thank Minister of Sport Gohar Nabil, the Egyptian Padel Federation and its President Ahmed Ghatwary for their commitment, vision and outstanding organisational capacity: their work has been instrumental in bringing African Padel to this level of growth and recognition. This event is not only a competition, but a concrete symbol of our commitment to developing Padel across every continent, offering young athletes real opportunities for competition, development and exchange. Africa officially joins the family of major FIP NextGen events, and we are confident this is only the beginning of a journey full of future achievements”.
