After victories in recent weeks in Marrakech (Morocco), Mérida (Spain), Oeiras and Setúbal, both in Portugal, Spain’s Javier Bolumar Orti (the boy in the white shirt in the photo) also claimed the Under 18 title at the FIP Promises in Dubai, partnering Hassan Adel Waly. In the match for the tournament title, the champions defeated Mario Brocal and Eisa Ahli, having previously beaten the number one seeds, Ali Taghizaden Najafi and Fahad Alhooli, in straight sets in the semi-finals with a 6-2 6-0 scoreline. Their run in Dubai was flawless: they conceded only five games throughout the tournament.
Following their defeat in the Under 18 final, Brocal and Ahli responded by winning the Under 16 title thanks to their victory in the final against the top-seeded pair, Sayed Hashem Almazeedi-Yaqoub Zainal (6-4 6-1). The latter then went on to triumph in the Under 14 category alongside Abdulrahman Bineedan.
