June 4, 2026
The tears of Momo Gonzalez on the Centre Court at the Foro Italico reflected the emotion of a major achievement: the standout result of day three at the BNL Italy Major Premier Padel came from Gonzalez and Lucas Campagnolo, who defeated the tournament’s third seeds, Franco Stupaczuk and Mike Yanguas, 6-4 7-6, one week after losing to them at the FIP Platinum Albania. It was only the second tournament together for the Spanish-Brazilian pair, with Gonzalez having played alongside Martin Di Nenno up to Buenos Aires. Di Nenno, now reunited with Paquito Navarro and a 6-2 6-4 winner over Edu Alonso and Aimar Goñi, will now challenge Gonzalez for a place in the semi-finals. The top half of the draw also features Arturo Coello and Agustin Tapia, who defeated David Gala and Enzo Jensen 6-1 6-1, and Javi Garrido and Lucas Bergamini, who beat Alex Ruiz and Juanlu Esbri 6-1 6-3.
In the bottom half, Fede Chingotto and Ale Galan came through a difficult match, defeating Javi Barahona and Gonza Alfonso 6-3 4-6 6-4. They will face Pol Hernandez and Guille Collado in the quarter-finals after the latter pair’s 7-6 3-6 6-2 victory over Jairo Bautista and Inigo Jofre. Juan Lebron and Leo Augsburger, who needed a tie-break before completing a 7-6 6-2 win over Tolito Aguirre and Alex Arroyo, will meet Coki Nieto and Jon Sanz (5), who defeated Maxi Arce and Juan Tello 6-2 6-4.

WOMEN In the women’s draw, Giulia Dal Pozzo continues to make history for Italian padel. Dal Pozzo, ranked No. 50 in the FIP ranking, and partner Nuria Rodriguez won a hard-fought derby against Carolina Orsi and Patty Llaguno that lasted nearly three hours and ended 6-4 0-6 7-6. Dal Pozzo and Rodriguez will face Claudia Fernandez and Sofia Araujo on the Pietrangeli court at 12:00 on Thursday. Fernandez and Araujo, like the other three leading pairs in the draw (Delfi Brea and Gemma Triay, Paula Josemaria and Bea Gonzalez, Ari Sanchez and Andrea Ustero), came through their opening Foro Italico match in straight sets. The other pair outside the top eight seeds to reach the quarter-finals is Marta Barrera and Jimena Velasco (14), who defeated Noa Canovas and Laia Rodriguez 6-4 1-6 6-1. The action in Rome resumes from 10:00.
