Garcia-Pineda seek another home victory in Spain

Winning again is the objective for Diego Garcia and Santi Pineda as they head to the FIP Bronze La Nucía in the Valencian Community. The two Spaniards have already shown they know how to win on home soil, having claimed the FIP Bronze Seville title in April. Standing in their way are the tournament’s No. 1 seeds, Emilio Sanchez and Facundo Dominguez. Sanchez recently won the FIP Bronze Montesilvano alongside none other than Diego Garcia, who will now be his rival at this CUPRA FIP Tour event. The two players are on opposite sides of the draw and could only meet in a potential final. Also among the leading contenders in Spain are the pairs of Javi Valdes–Thomas Leygue, and Nacho Moragues–Ferran Insa. The entry list also includes Jose Solano and Ramiro Pereyra, as well as Luis Oliver Artigas and Albert Trillas Garcia.

Heading the women’s draw are Aida Martinez and Nati Lopez. Lopez has already claimed two titles this season, winning the FIP Bronze Prishtina and the FIP Bronze Cyprus. Joining them in the top half of the draw are Brittany Dubins and Anna Cortiles, together with Vega Cano and Carla Mesa. In the bottom half, the spotlight will be on Ainize Santamaria and Ainara Pozuelo, as well as Martina Pamigiani and Ana Sanchez. The tournament’s main draw will begin tomorrow and conclude on Sunday 5 July, when the finals will be played.
