NextGen stars shine in Burgos, Ruiz and Petit among the champions of the second edition
July 28, 2026
Three days of competition, more than 300 young talents from around the world and eight titles awarded. This was the conclusion of the second edition of the FIP Promises Burgos, which confirmed the international appeal of the International Padel Federation’s youth circuit. Athletes from Indonesia, Mexico, France, the United States, Ecuador, Czech Republic, Venezuela, Kuwait and Sweden, alongside many Spanish talents, competed at the Padelite Club. Four categories were contested in both the boys’ and girls’ draws, from Under 12 to Under 18. Leon Ruiz was one of the highlights, winning the Under 18 boys’ category alongside Daniel Beneyto. For Ruiz, it was another important victory since the start of the year in the FIP circuit dedicated to the NextGen, following his successes in Perugia, Rome and Valladolid.
In the girls’ Under 18 category, victory went to Vega Cano and Ruth Petit, with the latter dedicating the triumph with a message: “This trophy has an even more special meaning. I want to dedicate it to my city, Vall d’Uixó, to all the towns in the area and to everyone who is suffering these days because of the fires. I send you all my strength and affection.” Among the many Spanish young talents, a Mexican pair also stood out: Nicole Alcerreca Careaga and Constanza Rubio Bravo, winners of the girls’ Under 12 category.
