Belgrade, Day2. Stupaczuk-Sanz build chemistry. Quarter-finals today, live on the FIP YouTube channel

First points, first wins, first embraces. One of the big new stories of the FIP Gold Belgrade is the partnership between Franco Stupaczuk and Jon Sanz, making their debut together ahead of a second half of the season that will continue as early as next week with the P1 in Madrid. In the meantime, Stupa and Sanz have reached the quarter-finals in Serbia thanks to a 6-3 6-2 win over Gustavo Nunes and Pedro Perry. The result earns them a place in the next round against Francisco Jurado and Alejandro Garcia.

The run of Coki Nieto and Mike Yanguas also continues. Until a few weeks ago, they were respectively the partners of Sanz and Stupaczuk: their 6-1 6-1 win over Ramirez/Skonieczny sends them through to the quarter-finals against Nicolas Zurita and Samuel Rivas, the surprise package of the tournament. Javi Ruiz/Pineda against Alex Ruiz/Garcia and Quilez/Mouriño against Lijó/Gil are the other two matches on the schedule.

In the women’s draw, Ale Salazar and Aranzazu Osoro continue their run thanks to a 6-1 6-1 victory over Marques/Rodrigues. In the quarter-finals, the top seeds will face Barbara Las Heras and Daria Kucheriavaia. The second seeds, Lorena Rufo and Victoria Iglesias, will take on Alix Collombon and Ksenia Sharifova in the second match of a day that will begin at 9am with Marta Talavan and Jessica Castelló against Viktoria Kurz and Anna Ortiz. Completing the schedule is the match that will open the afternoon session, not before 3pm: Marta Borrero and Teresa Navarro will face Marta Barrera and Jana Montes.

All matches will be streamed live on the FIP YouTube channel: the show goes on.
