Belgrade, Stupaczuk-Sanz team up for the first time, Nieto and Yanguas reunite. What a show in Serbia!

While Serbia’s national team is competing in Taranto at the Mediterranean Games, one of the most eagerly anticipated tournaments of the 2026 CUPRA FIP Tour is about to get under way in Belgrade. A FIP Gold, with 150 points in the FIP Ranking on offer to the winners, featuring an outstanding entry list in both the men’s and women’s draws. Just look at the top seeds: in the men’s draw, Franco Stupaczuk and Jon Sanz, respectively number 7 and 12 in the FIP Ranking, will make their debut as a pair, followed by Mike Yanguas (8) and Coki Nieto (10), who will reunite after playing together in 2025. While Serbian fans may be hoping for a final between the two highest-seeded pairs, others are ready to join the battle for the title, from Alex Ruiz, fresh from the final of the FIP Gold San Luis, and Javi Garcia to Inigo Jofre and Jairo Bautista.

 

The women’s draw is no less star-studded, with the legendary Ale Salazar, who has reached two FIP Platinum finals in 2026, in Marseille and Tirana, and Aranzazu Osoro leading the 32-pair main draw. Lorena Rufo and Victoria Iglesias are in the opposite half, with Jessica Castelló and Marta Talavan seeded third and Marta Barrera and Jana Montes fourth. After the conclusion of the qualifying rounds, Wednesday will see the first main-draw matches take place. At the Padel Center Belgrade Waterfront, five days of action await, culminating in Sunday’s finals.
