San Luis, here are the champions: titles for Martinez-Peralta and Rubini-Chozas. For Juani, it’s revenge

Two finals, both going the distance, to crown the champions. Lucia Martinez and Lucia Peralta, Juani Rubini and Alex Chozas: these are the winning pairs of the FIP Gold San Luis, who claimed glory and 150 points in the FIP Ranking in Mexico. For Rubini, who was beaten in last year’s final alongside Alonso Rodriguez, it was a chance for revenge. The Argentinian, partnering compatriot Alex Chozas, defeated Alex Ruiz – who won the tournament last year with Agustin Torre – and Franco Dal Bianco 6-2 6-7 7-6. “I’m very tired but also very happy to have won this tournament,” said Juani. “It was a very demanding weekend, with so many matches. I want to thank Alex and all the people who support me”. For Chozas, it is his second title in Mexico in 2026, after winning the FIP Silver in Aguascalientes. “We gave everything to win this tournament, and in every match it was clear that I have a great talent alongside me. It’s the second time I’ve come here this year: playing in Mexico is really special, and we are always treated very well”. 

 

Martinez and Peralta, meanwhile, came from behind to defeat home favourite Camila Ramme and American Brittany Dubins 1-6 6-0 6-1. “I’m really happy to have won this tournament in Mexico,” said Martinez. “Lucia is very young and less used to playing this kind of match. She came onto the court a little nervous, but we helped each other, changed our tactics and the match changed completely. The results of our work are there to see”. Martinez’s experience, combined with Peralta’s talent, proved decisive, as the latter confirmed: “I was very anxious before the match, but I surprised myself with the way I was able to turn things around. Thanks to Lucia for giving me the opportunity to play with her, and to the people of San Luis for supporting us”.

 

From one FIP Gold to another, from San Luis to Belgrade: after Mexico, another major CUPRA FIP Tour tournament will be played in Serbia next week.
